and we are praying through the first 100 days of Barack Obama’s presidency. I will tell you up front that I am a Republican and I did not vote for him. And as I watched some of his decisions and those made in my own state of California, I was getting discouraged until the Lord put on my heart to pray for the president and his staff.
Today’s prayer assignment was one that really touched my heart, and I hope that it will yours too. There is so much bad news in the media ,but the answer to everything is found in the Bible and one of our former presidents understood that. As we pause to praise You today, we remember the words of President Abraham Lincoln, who said of Your Word, “It is the best gift God has given to men. All the good Savior gave to the world was communicated through this book. But for it we could not know right from wrong. All things desirable for man’s welfare, here and hereafter, are to be found portrayed in it.”
