The 4th of July Is for Americans Who Love Their Country!

Did you ever think we would be living in a time when love of country, respect for the American Flag, and standing for the National Anthem would become controversial? Patriotism booed and considered deplorable? Some schools not allowing children to wear patriotic clothing or even starting their school day with the Pledge of Allegiance? Athletes representing the USA abroad disgracing our country and disgracing themselves? Patriots even being labeled as terrorists by the White House?

How did we become a country of ungrateful, unpatriotic citizens? Or are these just the people who yell the loudest and the media covers incessantly with glee?!

How did government officials who seem to hate America and want to destroy our Republic ever get elected?

One of my favorite songs is “God Bless the USA” by Lee Greenwood. I sing along whenever I hear it, especially the lines, “I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free!” Yet we just lived through several years where our freedoms were denied and we’re watching the left in power now trying to remove more of our freedoms.

I am proud to be an American, but not proud of all Americans.

It’s strange to hear some saying don’t make the 4^th of July political when Independence Day marked the initiation of politics!

Have you watched shows where they do a man-on-the-street interview and ask people if they know facts about our country’s history? I wonder how many could answer questions about the 4^th of July and why it’s a national holiday. Here’s a fun quiz.

“What does July 4^th stand for?

From what country did America fight to win their freedom?
Why is July 4^th Independence Day?
What year was the Declaration of Independence signed and adopted?
What is the significance of 13 stripes and 50 stars?
Why are our patriotic colors red, white, and blue?
What does a national flag represent?
Why are caskets of fallen soldiers wrapped in the American flag?
Why do we have fireworks on the 4^th of July?

How about asking these questions and offering a prize to the one who knows the most answers at your 4^th of July gathering.

So many more historical facts are lost in a culture that has forgotten our roots or is trying to rewrite our history. Liberal politicians want to erase our heritage as if it never happened and turn a Country of Freedoms into a country of government socialistic control of the citizens.

Many politicians and legislatures are old enough to remember national history classes. But in their zeal to make America a progressive socialist country, they make it seem like the freedom of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness isn’t as valuable as the carrots they dangle of free healthcare, free college, free immigration free… free…which the naïve lap up without realizing nothing is free. They will pay the price with the loss of sovereignty and personal freedoms that so many brave soldiers gave their life to grant each of us. It will also cost us dearly in taxes, independence, and quality of life.

For example, under socialism people would soon discover that “free” healthcare doesn’t mean the best medical treatment you need when you need it. The government decides who, when, and to what extent you’re worthy of the healthcare they deem you can have or even whether they’ll let you have tests to receive a diagnosis. You won’t just pick up the phone and make a doctor’s appointment. You’ll go through legal red tape, waiting lines, and a faceless worker in Washington deciding whether your life is worth healing or saving.

There will always be a cost. For those politicians saying Medicare-for-all, Medicare is not free. There’s a monthly premium, and everyone pays another premium for a supplement plan to pick up what Medicare doesn’t pay. And many of us have a prescription plan we pay extra for, but still have copays for prescriptions. Bernie Sanders admits there will be a 70% increase in taxes, even to the middle class, while he tries to convince you that you’ll have no out-of-pocket. Lies! Lies! Lies!

Since the majority of Democrat run states plan to give illegal immigrants free healthcare, they’ll need to increase state taxes to pay for it at a time when inflation and the price of gas is stressing everyone’s budget. And how good do you think that healthcare is going to be when it’s stretched to the limits with no money to back it and millions of extra people getting it for “free.” That’s why none of the politicians have given specifics how they would achieve this. They’re just pandering with what they think people want to hear and no one is pressing them on details, or they won’t give interviews to those who will.

Some Democrat politicians have said we’re the only major country without socialized healthcare. What Americans need to remember is that the entire point of July 4th is that we didn’t want to be like other nations. We wanted independence! Other nations come to America for medical treatment. People are not migrating to other countries; they want to come to America because we aren’t like other nations. They come to America for a better life.

No other country was founded on Judeo Christian values, where our Presidents still say “God Bless America” in their speeches, although I haven’t heard Biden say that lately. And as hard as the liberal left is trying to move our country away from God, we need to stand in the gap and keep America a blessed nation under God. Where our currency still says, “In God We Trust” not “In the government we trust.”

The 4^th of July celebrates the fight for freedom to be different from other countries. A Republic of the people, by the people, and for the people.

As you plan your festivities—parades, BBQs, fireworks, pool parties, trips to the beach, lake, or river—how about starting those events with the Pledge of Allegiance, singing the National Anthem, and a prayer to God who has allowed us to live in this great country. Remind the children at the gatherings why you’re celebrating this holiday. Our generation must pass down to the next generation our country’s history and why we don’t want to repeat past mistakes.

One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. Psalm 145:4

If anyone who refuses to stand for the National Anthem, say the Pledge of Allegiance, respectfully represent the USA abroad and at home, dares to celebrate the 4^th of July . . . might I say they’re hypocrites who either have no idea what July 4^th represents, or they have no idea what they’re even protesting.

God has allowed each of us to live in the greatest nation in the world. Have you ever woken up in the morning and said thank you God I’m an American? If we take God, freedom, and patriotism out of America, we won’t be able to say that anymore.

Have you noticed how both sides of the political arena are always saying, “The American people want to know.” “The American people deserve to know.” I don’t know about you, but they didn’t ask me.

Let’s tell them what the American people really want and deserve. A country that honors God, honors our flag, honors those who have gone before us and fought for our freedoms, and honors the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America and then we will be blessed!

You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God:

    will be blessed.

Why Is America a Republic and NOT a Democracy?

The topic of this blog may have surprised you. I was intrigued too when I initially heard the statement that America is a Republic and not a Democracy. Then, I began hearing this concept explained repeatedly by Conservative Constitutionalists I respect and became not only intrigued, but also curious to learn more. It resonated with me because I’d noticed the liberal left fixated on the word democracy as they oppose safe fair voting rights laws like voter ID or they attempt to eliminate, disregard, or illegally alter laws to allow voter fraud. The universal chant echoed by their marketing department, the liberal mainstream media, was that “Democracy will be threatened or even destroyed!”

The more I learned about their definition of democracy, the more I realized what they were really saying is they would lose power, which they’re desperate to maintain at any cost, even ignoring or breaking current laws and trying to establish new laws that would only benefit them, the Democrat party, not democracy for everyone!

Democracy to them is all about their power, not equal representation for All Americans, which our Founding Fathers envisioned when they wrote Article 4 Section 4 of the Constitution. Notice the authors of the Constitution did not write that we would be a Democracy, but instead a Republic.

Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution: “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.”

The principle behind this constitutional article was that in a republic, even the political party in the minority would still have a voice in the government to represent their constituents. A republic would be a participatory system where one side could not completely dominate and rule, but both sides would have a say in their government regardless of who was in the majority. The purpose was to avoid the tyranny of the majority in legislature, like we’re experiencing today. We the people, ALL the people, are supposed to have equal civil rights. In a republic, the government equally represents both political sides which discuss and debate issues together and consider what’s best for the country as a whole, not just the majority in power.

Our Founding Fathers were trying to prevent. . .

“A democracy mindset carries a lynch-mob, rule-of-the-majority MENTALITY that getting the most votes by any means necessary is the only thing that matters, even at the expense of human decency, manners, morals, truth, fact, fairness, and following the law. Nothing, but nothing, is as important as getting the most votes BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY including the use of lies, intimidation, preaching hate, voting fraud, and brutal violence, all methods used, throughout their party’s history, by those on the political Left.

“Such tactics are precisely why our Founding Fathers UNANIMOUSLY REJECTED democracy and considered it to be “evil,” “wretched,” “a disease,” “the most vile form of government,” and wanted nothing to do with it.

“Contrast democracy’s destructive mentality with the peaceful MINDSET of being a Republic where rule-of-law matters, whether it’s the majority or not. Republicanism means: “adherence to a republican form of government,” NOT a democratic form. It also means: “the principles, policy, or practices of the Republican party of the U.S.”

“As such, republicanism REJECTS the mob-rule mentality because established laws protect our personal rights and our civil rights, whereas democracy would PROTECT NOTHING because, unlike a republic, it’s fifty-one percent wins every time and whether it’s legal or moral doesn’t matter. By continuously selling their LIE of democracy, instead of the documented truth of our Republic, Democrats have brainwashed Americans by successfully BLURRING THE DISTINCTION between the two and instilled a MOB-RULE MENTALITY in their followers.

“Ever since Democrats formally rejected our ‘Republican Form of Government’ by adopting the cause of democracy at their 1832 proslavery National Convention, Democrats have been involved in an ALL-OUT-EFFORT to OVERTHROW our Republic and its rule-of-law. They seek to replace it with the mob rule of democracy, where using fraud and violence to get their way is perfectly acceptable. Simply said, they’re SELFISH and want what they want and don’t care how they get it or who they hurt.” Article IV Section 4 – Reclaim Our Republic Because Truth Matters

The Democrats can only move their progressive/Marxist agenda with violence like we see with BLM, Antifa, pro-abortion extremists, and now the fraudulent January 6 Commission.

Dave Barton on Flashpoint pointed out that right and wrong today are determined by whether or not it hurts my agenda. We see that vividly in the two-tiered justice system in our country today. If something goes against the Democrat’s agenda, like let’s say abortion being overturned, they turn a blind eye to the danger, harassment, and threats against the conservative Supreme Court Judges, even though the law specifically prohibits going to their homes and protesting, not to mention trying to assassinate one of them.

But the White House, Biden, Pelosi, Garland don’t enforce the law and show their complicity with inaction. Schumer actually called for an insurrection and possible harm to Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, with no reprimand. Anti-abortion terrorist groups are systematically and violently defacing and attacking pro-life centers and churches with no accountability, while a year and a half later, conservative political prisoners from January 6 are still in solitary confinement in jails without trials.

Violence, intimidation, threats are the Democrats way of getting what they want, even breaking the law. We all know what would happen if Republicans were doing this.

Again, Article IV Section 4 – Reclaim Our Republic Because Truth Matters asks the questions:

“Didn’t Republicans learn anything from 2015 to 2021, when Democrats, in separate documented incidents, violently attacked upwards of one thousand Republican supporters of Donald Trump and more than one hundred Republican members of congress, killing some and hospitalizing others? Or from 2015 to 2021, when Democrat leaders like Kamala Harris, Maxine Waters, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Tom Perez, Ilhan Omar, Ocasio Cortez, and others publicly called for more violence against Republicans? Or from 2017 to 2021, when Democrats again refused to accept the election of a Republican president by illegally attempting to remove him from office based on a fake Russian Dossier they created, followed by a fake impeachment based on a fake phone conversation they created?

“Or from 2020 to today, when self-confessed Marxist Democrat terrorist groups like Antifa and Black Lives Matter used rioting, looting, burning, intimidation, brutal violence, and murder to occupy major portions of American cities for months on end? Or from 2020 to today, when Democrat-led big tech companies are attempting to silence and censure Republicans again? Or in 2021, when Democrat President Joe Biden proposed packing the Supreme Court again, this time adding 4 new Justices to give Democrats majority control?”

The Democrats want to pack the court and eliminate the electoral college so we will be governed solely by the popular vote, which would mean that 20 liberal Democrat-controlled blue cities and 9 blue states would tyrannically control America. We would no longer be a republic, but a democracy where the majority liberal left would literally rule as dictators forever or until the people rebel. Republicans would have no voice or vote in our country ever again. That is their ultimate goal at any cost.

Why am I telling you this? Because Conservatives are already being censured and silenced by those in power and they’re attempting to force us into “tolerance” of everything that goes against God and the way He wants His people to live, as I wrote about last week, America Needs Truth NOT Tolerance. Jesus gave us responsibility while we’re here on earth to speak the truth, live the truth, share the truth, vote the truth!

We are God’s voice and if we don’t use it wisely, we will be silenced. We are a nation of laws not ruled by men. We do everything by God’s laws first, then the Constitution, and we support and vote for people who understand that we are a republic of the people and for the people, not a democracy of the most powerful.

Words matter! Listen carefully. Learn diligently. Vote responsibly. Pray continuously. Do not be deceived.

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Eph. 6:10

When there is moral rot within a nation, its government topples easily. But wise and knowledgeable leaders bring stability. Proverbs 28:2 NLT

There’s Hope for America Breaking Free From Demonic Paganism!

The title of last week’s blog was God Is Up to Something Big! That almost seems prophetic with the events of the past week and the answer to so many prayers with the SCOTUS “leak” that Roe v Wade will be overturned after the murder of over 63 million precious children in our country alone in the past fifty years since it became law. We should be rejoicing and not let victory be tainted by the way we heard about it that has set Democrats and pro-abortion advocates into a frenzy.

I want to preface this blog with a word to anyone suffering from the guilt of having an abortion and not yet asked and received the Lord’s forgiveness. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

My friend Pat Layton has a beautiful ministry Surrendering the Secret I would encourage you to look into. “A ministry designed to help women (and men) heal from the hurt of abortion. Abortion affects people of all walks of life. At STS we, provide resources for women that have had abortions, and opportunities for others to help support these women.”

Paganism in America

I often read the Bible in a year. This year, I’m using the CBN.Com reading schedule where I read from the Old and New Testament each day. As I study, I see a stark resemblance to the world we’re living in today. No longer are we a country governed by our foundational Judeo-Christian beliefs, morals, fairness, and justice or even a belief in God We Trust.

We now have a political party in charge who worships nature through a false religion of climate control/change. Encourages mothers to murder their unwanted babies, censors and controls any dissention from their demented platform, and a President who calls anyone who is a patriot and believes in God, country, and the sanctity of life, “the most extreme political organization that’s ever existed in recent American history.”

Actually, Biden’s regime is the first administration in my lifetime who wants to destroy America, trash the Constitution, and turn us into a Marxist/Communist country. I would call that an “extreme political organization.”

When you look into the eyes of those who are demanding women have the demonic “right” to kill their unborn babies, even infanticide after birth, and who can’t define a woman and believe men can get pregnant, you see evil deception, greed, power, and pride.

Paganism! Hedonism!

King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, was also enticed by paganism, but the Lord saw everything just like He’s watching all the evil today, and He said there would be consequences to the king who once wisely saved a baby’s life. (1 Kings 3:16-28)

1 Kings 11:1-8 tells of Solomon’s downfall:

Now King Solomon loved many foreign women. Besides Pharaoh’s daughter, he married women from Moab, Ammon, Edom, Sidon, and from among the Hittites. ²The Lord had clearly instructed the people of Israel, “You must not marry them, because they will turn your hearts to their gods.” Yet Solomon insisted on loving them anyway. ³He had 700 wives of royal birth and 300 concubines. And in fact, they did turn his heart away from the Lord.
⁴In Solomon’s old age, they turned his heart to worship other gods instead of being completely faithful to the Lord his God, as his father, David, had been. ⁵Solomon worshiped Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molech,^[^a^] the detestable god of the Ammonites.
⁶In this way, Solomon did what was evil in the Lord’s sight; he refused to follow the Lord completely, as his father, David, had done. ⁷On the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem,^[^a^] he even built a pagan shrine for Chemosh, the detestable god of Moab, and another for Molech, the detestable god of the Ammonites. ⁸Solomon built such shrines for all his foreign wives to use for burning incense and sacrificing to their gods.

Chemosh was the name of the chief pagan god of the Moabites. Molech represents the most repulsive of acts in God’s sight, the ritual sacrifice of children to a pagan god. Just like abortion sacrifices children to the gods of pleasure, convenience, selfish ambition, and money.

I wonder if all the protestors, activists, and politicians demanding that abortion remain legal have ever watched the movie Unplanned where we see a callous doctor vacuum a fetus out of a mother’s womb. Or read about the tortures children experience during abortion when saline is injected in-vitro into their heart to stop it from beating or instruments used to tear the baby apart limb by limb in their mother’s womb. If you can stand to hear details, Dr. Anthony Levatino, a former abortion doctor, graphically described the procedure to Congress.

The tortured, burned, dismembered bodies of these babies are thrown into trashcans or sold for research. That’s the reality of abortion. Most people would be aghast if this atrocity happened to puppies, yet people and politicians are actually protesting that every woman should have the “right” to mercilessly kill their unborn child. Barbaric. Hedonistic ritualistic sacrifice of humans. Paganism!

I recently heard an abortion survivor at seven months share her story. She’s a beautiful woman who founded an abortion survivors’ organization. She has a family. She had a right to life just like every aborted child had a right to its life.

Biden in defense of abortion falsely claims “Roe says what all basic mainstream religions have historically concluded, that the existence of a human life and being is a question. Is it at the moment of conception? Is it six months? Is it six weeks? Is it quickening, like Aquinas argued?”

This is an outright lie when he knows his own Catholic “religion” vehemently opposes abortion. Actually, it doesn’t matter what “mainstream religions” say, it only matters that God says, “Thou shalt not kill!” Period. No discussion or rationalization. And with modern technology and science, we absolutely do know that human life begins at conception. Now we can hear the baby’s heartbeat and literally watch the child develop in the womb! We know a baby in the womb experiences fetal pain and has viability in the second trimester and in some cases even earlier.

When an interviewer asked Dr. Levatino to give a gestational timeframe for acceptable abortion, he responded, “You were always you!” In other words, NEVER!

“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.” Jer. 1:5 NLT

While lobbying for abortion and not once condemning the “leak” or supporting SCOTUS, Biden said, “abort a child,” and then declared, “I believe I have the rights that I have not because the government gave it to me . . . but because I’m just a child of God: I exist.” Yes, Mr. President you exist with rights because your mother chose life and not death for you. But God does not give the right to murder. Every aborted child is a child of God with a right to exist! Using God in your defense of abortion is blasphemy and an abomination to our Great Creator. *

Let’s read on to see what God said to King Solomon about abandoning the Lord’s ways.

⁹The Lord was very angry with Solomon, for his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice. ¹⁰He had warned Solomon specifically about worshiping other gods, but Solomon did not listen to the Lord’s command. ¹¹So now the Lord said to him, “Since you have not kept my covenant and have disobeyed my decrees, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your servants. 1 Kings 11:9-11 NLT

No one is fooled. The Democrats were behind the SCOTUS vile leak to rev up their base because the odds are against them in November and to take the focus off inflation, crime, rising food and gas costs, and the invasion at the border. They were ready with their protestors and speeches moments after the leak. They know they’re on a trajectory to lose “their kingdom” and long ago they discarded ethics, morals, and scruples. We saw that with the last election.

What Do We Do Now?

With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies. Ps. 108:13

1. We pray for wisdom of when and what to do and say. We pray for the safety and protection of the Supreme Court Justices and their families and that they don’t waiver under pressure but vote with integrity. We don’t stay silent in the face of deception and evil. We pray for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Matt. 6:10)

2. We speak the truth and educate those who often don’t even know that they’re championing and protesting for mothers to kill their children.

3. We vote for anti-abortion, family-friendly truly Conservative Christian political representatives and do our homework before we vote. When abortion comes back to the states to vote, we’ll have our work to do all over again, especially if you live in blue states.

4. We support parents speaking out against the pornographic perverted sex and racist CRT taught in some schools today. I wrote more about this is my blog “They’re Coming for Our Children!”

When its age appropriate, children should be taught the biological fact that when a male sperm permeates a female egg a child results and it can happen the first time you have unprotected sex! That’s how babies are made. Don’t have sex unless you’re ready to take on that responsibility. I think it would be good for sex education to show videos of babies developing in the womb so that children won’t be deceived into thinking there’s not a real person with moving arms and legs and eyes, nose, and a mouth that smiles.

Kimberly Fletcher, founder of MomsforAmerica.us says parents need to teach their children the truth about abortion and that it is barbarically taking a life. Raise children to understand the difference between death and the value and sanctity of life. Understanding evil versus good should be taught in every home. Children are hearing lies and hyperbole and home should be a safe place to hear the truth and ask questions.

5. If you haven’t seen the movie Unplanned, watch it now to reaffirm your anti-abortion, pro-life conviction and recommend it to anyone you know who is pro-abortion, pro-death. Here’s the trailer.

6. Churches should offer counseling and ministries to provide hope and tangible help to women dealing with unplanned pregnancies. For those who have already had abortions, help them find spiritual healing that comes from seeking God’s forgiveness.

I’ll close with this story. On a panel show discussing the Roe leak, a liberal left Democrat who was distraught with the possible overturn of Roe spewed angrily, “What am I supposed to tell my daughters?!”

With those words, he epitomized the reality of what abortion has become to many, including parents, a form of accepted birth control.

I said to the TV screen, “You tell your daughters not to have promiscuous sex outside of marriage. You tell them don’t have unprotected sex unless you’re ready to have a baby. You remind them that sex is the beautiful way God created for a husband and wife to come together as one to give the gift of life to a child. You tell them abortion snuffs out a life.

They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was desecrated by their blood. Ps. 106:38

But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea. Matt. 18:6 NLT

God Is Up to Something Big!

I’m back! For those of you who follow my Monday Morning Blog, I announced at the beginning of March that I would be taking a brief sabbatical while my hubby had his second knee replacement surgery. I know some of you have been praying for us and we’re so grateful for all the prayers and the help we received from family, our church family, and friends.

It’s a difficult surgery, as any of you who’ve experienced it knows; you practically need to learn to walk again with a new prosthetic knee. I’m happy to report that Dave’s doing well, progressing with physical therapy, and diligently doing his exercises and recumbent bike riding at home.

So much has been taking place in the world, it’s been hard for me not to chime in, but I’ve been in a season of caregiving for hubby and praying for our country’s leaders who are being led by the devil and not by the Lord!!

Your Testimony is Your Best Witness

On April 24, I celebrated a milestone moment in my own testimony. I want to share a bit of it with you here to confirm what God can and will do for anyone who truly surrenders his or her life to God.

In the summer of 1992, I rededicated my life to the Lord at a Harvest Crusade led by Pastor Greg Laurie at the then Anaheim Stadium, in Anaheim California. I’d been a Christian since I was eleven but backslid horribly in my thirties and early forties as a single parent for seventeen years. At that life-altering crusade, Pastor Laurie asked, “Are you ready to die tonight?”

I knew I wasn’t and when he gave the invitation for those who wanted to give their life to Christ or rededicate their life I joined hundreds down on the stadium field. I told the Lord, “This prodigal is returning to you completely. I surrender all of my life to you Lord. No turning back!” I had no idea how seriously the Lord would take my words, or what would be ahead of me, but I was ready to follow Jesus with my entire life, heart, and soul.

On December 19,1992, just a few months after the Harvest Crusade, I married my godly husband Dave, who I had just broken up with prior to the Crusade; but I heard the Lord say to me that night, “You asked for a godly man and I gave him to you, now rededicate yourself to him too!”

When we’d only been married a year and I still had a fulltime career, I started attending Fuller Theological Seminary obtaining a Masters of Arts in Christian Leadership, with an emphasis on equipping the laity. Within three years after I rededicated my life to Christ, I left my business career and started the Woman to Woman Mentoring Ministry, which is still a vibrant biblically based ministry in many churches today and new churches are continually starting the ministry with the resources I wrote twenty-five years ago!

Five years after the Harvest Crusade, I began a writing ministry and speaking ministry, “About His Work Ministries. I had NEVER written a book before, but God has since used me to write twenty-one books and Bible studies for His glory!

So when I heard that Greg Laurie was bringing Harvest Crusade to Boise, fairly near where we now live in Idaho, that was exciting. The first attempt at the Boise Crusade was in 2020 but it was canceled because of Covid. Now in April 2022 Pastor Greg and Harvest Crusade was coming to Boise!

As I reminisced about my first Harvest Crusade in 1992, I realized that Dave and I would be celebrating our thirtieth anniversary this December so the 2022 Harvest Crusade in Boise would also be my 30-year anniversary of rededicating my life to Jesus. I knew I had to attend. Dave wasn’t up to it yet, but our church was taking a bus since we’re about 1 ½ hours from the Crusade, so I took the bus and met my daughter and son-in-law there.

I wasn’t disappointed. I was encouraged and inspired yet again! When Greg came to the point in the program that touched my heart 30 years ago where he invited people who wanted to make Jesus their Lord and Savior, people were up out of their seats and flooding the auditorium floor. There were so many people coming down the second night, the fire marshal had them stop coming but they stood in the aisles. Here are the glorious responses from that weekend. Praise God revival is happening in Boise and I got to see it firsthand.

God is Springing Up Revival Throughout Our Country!

On the Thursday and Friday nights prior to the Saturday and Sunday Boise Crusade, Flashpoint Live held an event at the Mabee Center in Tulsa Oklahoma. If you’re not familiar with Flashpoint on the Victory channel on Tuesday and Thursday nights, here’s a link to check it out. Dave and I watch this program to get a Christian perspective on today’s news and to give us hope when it feels like our country is hopeless.

But the point I want to make is that Flashpoint experienced the same overflow of attendance of 10,000 people and 1650 responding to make a first-time decision or recommitment for a Christ-centered life. Again, just like in Boise, the stands started emptying as people poured down to the floor, which became so full some had to remain standing in the aisles.

Two seemingly unrelated events and yet so related in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

People are hungry for something to provide peace and purpose in their life as we watch the world crumble all around us. Only Jesus has that power! Only Jesus has the answers! Not the government flailing in the dark as they become more and more the minions of the Devil. Their evil deeds are unveiled daily, but never fear. God sees it all and will react at the perfect time.

Our job is to continue sharing the light of the Gospel by telling whoever will listen what God has done in our own life. You don’t have to be an evangelist like Greg Laurie or Mario Murillo or Franklin Graham. You just need to live boldly and bravely for Christ in all your actions, deeds, and words.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Matt. 9:37

I love this quote from Mario Murillo in his blog To Save Freedom: “You are constantly hearing the religious empty suits telling you to stay out of the political arena. But if we lose freedom, you will rue the day that you ever listened to their fake morality. You are not a “Christian Nationalist.” You are a sincere Christian who opposes evil, no matter what camouflage it wears or how it rebrands itself.”

So when was the last time you shared your testimony, or what God is doing in your life now, with someone who needs encouragement and hope? Maybe you need to remember it for your own encouragement! Let’s join God in taking revival to the nation!

Billy Graham said in his book Till Armageddon, “The will of God will never take us where the grace of God cannot sustain us!”

Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous. Psalm 112:4

Turning Panic into Praise

Many people are panicked right now and worried about how Russia invading Ukraine might affect them personally. Are we going to see WWIII? It’s understandable also to be concerned with the rising costs at the gas pumps and the grocery stores. This is especially disconcerting for people like us on a fixed income or those who find themselves living paycheck to paycheck with rising inflation.

But imagine those families in Ukraine living a normal life one day and the next hovering in a cold basement or bomb shelter because a crazed dictator has decided he wants their country for himself! Just like that, the Ukrainian people are thrown into panic yet we still see many video clips of them singing hymns and praying to God as they await their fate. No doubt, there will be many testimonies of God’s protection, provision, and intervention.

CBN News reports “Ukrainians are setting up bomb shelters and turning to God. They continue to pray Psalm 31 amid deadly uncertainty.”

O Lord, I have come to you for protection;
    don’t let me be disgraced.
    Save me, for you do what is right.
²Turn your ear to listen to me;
    rescue me quickly.
Be my rock of protection,
    a fortress where I will be safe.
³You are my rock and my fortress.
    For the honor of your name, lead me out of this danger.
⁴Pull me from the trap my enemies set for me,
    for I find protection in you alone.
⁵I entrust my spirit into your hand.
    Rescue me, Lord, for you are a faithful God. -Psalm 31:1-5

How My Own Panic Turned to Praise

My husband Dave is having his second knee replacement surgery on March 9^th and there are so many things to do to get ready for him being in a recovery mode for a few months. If you follow me regularly, you know his first knee replacement surgery in May 2021 was difficult and we’re praying that this one will go much smoother, while also trying to be prepared if it doesn’t.

So a couple weeks ago, I woke up at 4 am in a panic thinking of our long to-do list. We live over an hour away from “civilization” in a small rural mountain community so there are many things we need to stock up on and many preparations to make in advance. After about an hour of mind reeling panic, tossing and turning, I was praying for God to quiet my mind when I sensed the Lord saying gently, “I will be with you, right beside you through it all.”

In relief, I said, “Oh, Lord, of course you will. Thank you for reminding me.”

Back to sleep I went as my panic turned to praise.

God was preparing me for the next week’s events that I could’ve never predicted. As if the Lord wanted to make turning panic into praise personal to us, a habit if you will, Dave and I had two back-to-back “panic” causing experiences. The first one was last Monday when we were at the VA Hospital for Dave’s Pre-op for his upcoming surgery. While in the X-ray department, Dave’s phone rang and I could hear the person on the other end describing our car, which was in the parking garage. As Dave was called to go in for his X-ray, he gave his phone to me and said, “Here, you get the information.”

Police Officer Joe proceeded to tell me that our car had been involved in a “minor accident” and could we come out to meet a police officer at our car. We agreed I would call when we had finished all our appointments. Of course, my mind started panicking again while praying, “Lord, how are we going to fit this in with all the things we have to do before Dave’s surgery? Will our one and only car be drivable? Am I going to be driving a wrecked car while Dave recovers for the next few months? Will we need an estimate and when do we have time for that?” You get the idea of what you’d be thinking too.

When officer TJ met us at our car, he proceeded to tell us how a little old man in a small car backed into us and the officer happened to be driving by as the accident happened. We breathed a sigh of relief as we could barely see the scratch on the back fender. Something about the officer’s gentle and kind way told me he was a Christian, so I asked him, and yes, he was!

Dave and I immediately started praising God for protecting our car, it could’ve been so much worse.

We went from panic to praise!

The very next day, we were back in the car headed to Boise again, but when we backed out of our garage, our driveway was a sheet of ice from the night’s rain. As Dave went to turn and navigate down the driveway, our car lost traction and spun out wedging us between two snow embankments. We were stuck! When we tried to step outside the car it was like being on a skating rink, even though we both had boots on we couldn’t walk on it.

We began frantically calling everyone we could think of to come help us, but all we got were voice mails. We were both panicking, but I kept a continual prayer going for the Lord to send someone to rescue us. After almost an hour, a neighbor drove by and stopped to help dig us out enough to free the car as we slid on down the driveway to the street below. We thanked God for sending Bob to our rescue, our calming guardian angel sent from the Lord!

We went from panic to praise!

Someone reading this week’s blog needs to go from panic to praise. I don’t know who or how many of you need to hear a word from the Lord, but I felt He wanted me to share with you the message learned from our experiences. We’re living in a time of what seems like one crisis after another, and yet, as Christians God wants us to still display the joy of the Lord and believe the words He told me when He said in the dark of night, “I will be with you!” Which He declares over 300 times in the Bible, yet still we forget and panic.

God is with all the Christians in Ukraine and in Russia. He was with those in Canada a few weeks ago, and He is with you and me every day, even when we panic. Yes, there will be trouble in this world but remember . . .

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NLT

But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you.
    O Israel, the one who formed you says,
“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.
    I have called you by name; you are mine.
²When you go through deep waters,
    I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
    you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
    you will not be burned up;
    the flames will not consume you.
³For I am the Lord, your God,
    the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. Is. 43:1-3 NLT

Then I will rejoice in the Lord.

A Brief Sabbatical

I’ll be taking a sabbatical from writing for a few weeks. As I wrote in the above blog, my husband Dave is having his second knee replacement surgery on March 9 and I’ll be devoting my time and energy to his recovery. Many people want to comfort us with, “Well, it will be easier now that you know what to expect.” But Dave and I each look at each other knowingly and gently reply that because we know what to expect it’s definitely not easier!

We both covet your prayers as we go through this journey together yet again. We each know we’ll need to rely solely on God to turn any times of panic into praise.

When You Think You’re God!

There is only ONE God, though many think they can take His place!

“If you’re going to remain ‘god,’ you’re going to need a Devil to fight. Find an enemy, create a crisis, and stay in power.” Tucker Carlson said facetiously.

Such a smart statement and so true as we watch demigods or wannabe gods doing exactly what Tucker describes. When people are fearful, they tend to be more complacent and controllable. They’ll wear masks, even in the car by themselves, as they watch those enforcing the draconian rules party hardy without masks.

Biden’s Crises

Carlson was talking about Biden at the time whose regime continues to want to hang onto the Covid crisis mandates while it’s now obvious that masks and vaxing won’t prevent Covid and Covid numbers decline. But mandates have power.

And there’s always a new crisis to draw attention away from the last Biden catastrophe. We have the shipping and supply chain crisis and the hospital staffing crisis all created by the vaxing mandates. The crime crisis from government defunding the police and the loss of officers due to the mandates.

These crises led to the inflation crisis, caused by Biden appeasing the progressive left while he tells us from a teleprompter that yes, we’re going to have to sacrifice but he’s doing everything he can to alleviate the pain. The pain caused by his ego and pride that won’t let him admit he made a mistake closing the Keystone pipeline and taking America from energy independence to foreign dependence and begging our enemies to pump more oil for us!!

Forbes recently reported that since 2021, Russia is the United States’ top source of imported gasoline and other refined petroleum products. Lithium, one of the main ingredients in rechargeable batteries used in cars, phones, and other products, chiefly originates in China.

Who intentionally does that when according to the American Petroleum Institute, we have enough oil in North America to fuel every single passenger car and long-haul truck for the next 430 years! We have enough natural gas to provide electricity for every business and household for the next 535 years and enough coal to provide electricity for about 500 years. Not to mention supplying our allies so they’re not dependent on Russia for energy.

Why then did Joe Biden sacrifice America’s energy independence, cease all exploration for oil and gas, abandon pipeline development, and drive up prices of gasoline, heating oil, and jet fuel and make us once again dependent on foreign enemy oil?

With Europe and North America buying oil from Russia, we filled Putin’s coffers giving him more than enough money to finance this New Green Deal War currently against Ukraine created by AOC, Bernie Sanders, John Kerry, and yes, Joe Biden. We cutoff our own strength and gave it to Putin. When you create scarcity of fuel, you give opportunity to bad people when you also give them lots and lots of money. If we weren’t satisfying proponents of the NGD, we could put Russia out of the energy business and out of money. Instead, Biden has done the opposite. Combine this new wealth with Biden’s White House repeated catastrophes and mistakes like the Afghanistan debacle, Putin is emboldened.

Many experts have said the invasion of Ukraine could’ve been avoided by simply turning the fuel spigot back on in the USA, the one Biden closed on his first day in office putting thousands out of work, and also announcing that Ukraine would never be in NATO! But when asked why he doesn’t do any of these things, Biden just smiles and picks his teeth, while innocent civilians’ blood flows on the streets of Ukraine! And you know that Putin has his eye on more countries.

Everyone around Biden knew he wasn’t up to the job of President of the United States. I think he knew that himself. But from his earliest days, he made it clear his goal was to be President. Not for a noble goal of making America a better country but for making himself a resident of the White House, even though he leaves for home in Delaware every chance he gets.

We wouldn’t be in the impotent position with Putin as he invades Ukraine if we and much of Europe hadn’t become dependent on Russia for energy. What person in his right mind puts your country in that position and stays there?! Biden could change all that quickly, but instead, he embraces crises to stay in power and lives are lost.

Trudeau’s Crises

Trudeau was also trying to play God in Canada when he initiated The Emergencies Act and Martial Law because peaceful truckers were protesting the mandates he was ruthlessly enforcing. Then instead of negotiating with them like a true leader would do, he created another crisis by treating them like they were the enemy and arresting them, freezing bank accounts not only of the participating truckers but of anyone who supported them or even gave them a cup of coffee in the name of freedom.

Putin’s Crises

Why does Putin want to overtake Ukraine when his own people are protesting the invasion? He’s jailing anyone who isn’t in agreement. Lying, he tried to make Ukraine the enemy saying they were the aggressors and he was simply denazifing the country when everyone knew that wasn’t true, especially since Ukraine’s President is Jewish! Putin too has a god-complex and wants power, position, and prestige while stealing what doesn’t belong to him.

Pride. Ego. Control. Central themes in wannabe gods.

A Prophetic Word

It’s obvious that none of these men personally knows the One and Only true God of the Bible. Our God is kind, caring, and compassionate, while always just, fair, and omniscient. “God opposes the proud, but shows favor to the humble” (James 4:6). He wants peace and blessings for His people that He loves so dearly. But He also tells us to beware of the enemy and prayerfully suit up in our spiritual armor (Eph. 6:10-18) to take our stand against the inevitable evil.

I believe we’re actually watching prophecy fulfilled in our lifetime. The morning after the first attack on Ukraine, the Lord gave me Matt. 24:3-8.

³As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” 4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

I’m not the only one God spoke this to. Pastor Greg Laurie has a short video clip explaining how he sees prophecy occurring as more signs of Jesus’ return and the last days prophecies are happening closer and closer together. Plagues, tyrant leaders, wars. His reference is the same one the Lord gave me in Matthew 24 and Laurie also mentions Ezekiel 38, where Magog is thought to be modern-day Russia with Israel in its sights.

One of the things that has always baffled me over the years was that America is not mentioned in the last days. I always wondered how could that happen when we’re recognized as the world’s super power? How could America the Great suddenly disappear from the global picture? Well, watching the damage that Biden and his people have done to America in only thirteen months, I suddenly see how it could become reality.

Was Biden’s election all part of God’s endtimes plan? We know that everything God does has a purpose and He can work all things out for good in the end.

I don’t say this to frighten you, but like Pastor Laurie says at the end of the clip that I shared earlier, we need to be looking up! Not living in fear but living in anticipation as we see the time drawing closer and closer to the rapture.

Believers need to be sure that everyone we love and care about also knows the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. There’s no time to waste. No one knows the day or moment of Christ’s return, but He’s giving us so many clues that it could be soon. Take it seriously. What we’re watching now is only a small window into the horror of the tribulation and we don’t want anyone to have to go through that misery.

³⁶“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,^[f] but only the Father. ³⁷As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. ³⁸For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; ³⁹and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. ⁴⁰Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. ⁴¹Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

⁴²“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. ⁴³But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. ⁴⁴So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. Matt. 24:36-44

Let’s continue praying for the people of Ukraine and for world leaders to realize they aren’t God, they’re elected to be shepherds and protectors of their people and seek God’s wisdom. They must surrender to God for guidance and direction as we watch God’s Word coming alive in our generation. It’s an exciting time and God chose us to be here at this moment in history. Pray to understand the role He wants you to take and then be sure you’re marching in the Lord’s army.

³Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. ⁴There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; ⁵one Lord, one faith, one baptism; ⁶one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Eph. 4:3-6

Are You Willing to do What Must Be Done?

“The question should never be, ‘What will happen if we try, but nothing happens?’ The question that should haunt us is, ‘What if God is about to turn the tide of evil in our favor, but we are too timid to do as the occasion demands?’”

The above quote is from Mario Murillo’s 2/17/22 blog, It Is A Reckoning. Mario also quoted 1 Samuel 10:6-7 in his article, ⁶At that time the Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person. ⁷After these signs take place, do what must be done, for God is with you.

There are so many signs in our world today that something must be done and it’s exciting to watch people doing something about the tyranny and evil trying to control citizens in America and neighboring Canada. When the Canadian truckers first started the convoy to their Capital city Ottawa, I listened to many of the truckers interviewed on FOX News and Newsmax. My ears perked up when the very first trucker I heard was actually a pastor and he said that not everyone in the convoy were Christians. That was my first clue there were many Christians uniting with non-Christian truckers in a peaceful protest for the same cause: FREEDOM!

I saw videos on Social Media of these truckers singing hymns and praying on the steps of the Parliament. They even did a Jericho March around the Parliament Building in Ottawa for 6 days. Thursday, Feb 17 was Day 7. Like the original Jericho March (Joshua 6), they circled the building 7 times then met at the centennial flame fountain monument in front of Parliament for communion.

At 1:00 PM EST, they ended the Jericho March at the main stage. They invited all men, women, and children across the world to honk horns for seven minutes. It’s time to bring the walls down from around the hearts of all they said. They then heard messages from pastors.

These Canadian truckers are doing what they feel must be done for freedom and the Christians know that God is with them!

But like Pharaoh, their Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s heart gets progressively harder as he becomes even more tyrannical and unreasonable with the Truckers Convoy. Instead of meeting with them to discuss their issues, he’s freezing their bank accounts, stealing their wood and gas, commandeering donations from GoFundMe, arresting people, and doxing the names and contact information of citizens sending donations to help the truckers with food, gas, and accommodations, all while denouncing them as terrorists. The same Trudeau who walked and took a knee with the BLM protestors and never denounced their violence and destruction. These Truckers are shoveling snow, picking up trash, setting up bounce houses for the kids, praying and worshipping together. The only violence seems to be coming from the government.

One sweet Gelato storeowner had me crying with her as she told her harrowing story to Jesse Watters of the harassment she received when she was doxed for her small donation to the truckers. You can hear this sweet woman’s story here.

She was just doing what she felt must be done to show kindness to her fellow Canadians!

Three organizers of the Freedom Convoy, Tamara Lich, Chris Barber, and Pat King have been arrested, but for what? “Counseling to commit the offense of mischief.” Seriously, that sounds like a schoolyard concocted charge when they couldn’t come up with anything they were doing wrong. Canada has become a police state with orchestrated charges.

Lich, Barber, and King were just doing what they felt must be done to regain freedom in Canada.

A group of Canadian clergy sent an open letter to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau rebuking him for invoking the Emergencies Act to quell the Freedom Convoy and for other actions they described as “tyrannical.” “We are writing to you as representative pastors of Christian congregations from across the nation and as law-abiding citizens who respect the God-defined role of civil government and uphold the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the highest law of our land, which recognizes the supremacy of God over all human legislation.” Read the letter signed by 29 clergymen and remains open for other Canadians to sign.

These Christian Pastors did what they felt must be done to protect the God-given rights of all Canadian citizens.

Back in America, Jennifer Sey, a longtime Levi Strauss & Co. executive, says the apparel company has forced her out over her outspokenness against closing schools due to COVID-19. Sey forfeited a $1 million severance package that would have silenced her in order to continue espousing her views.

Sey, a mother of four, explained that she had long been an advocate for children and that Levi’s had always supported her in the past when she expressed other political views, but that all changed after Sey refused to stop speaking out against California shutting down public schools in the name of safety due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“I’ve been a Democrat my entire voting life,” Sey told FOX Business in an interview. “I feel the party has abandoned their principles and I find myself quite politically homeless . . . Free speech and kids are not ‘right wing’ issues and it should not be considered beyond the pale to stand up for these things or even be ‘right wing’ for that matter . . . It certainly shouldn’t make one unemployable.”

Jennifer says she was accused of being racist despite being a longtime supporter of racial equity and the mother of two Black children. Levi’s head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion asked her to go on an “apology tour” for her views, but she refused.

Sey wrote in her own article, Yesterday I Was Levi’s Brand President. I Quit So I Could Be Free I turned down $1 million severance in exchange for my voice, that she “was on track to become the next CEO of Levi’s” and that “the only thing standing in my way was me. All I had to do was stop talking about the school thing.”

Jennifer Sey did what she felt must be done to protect children, maintain free speech, and stop censorship!

Here’s one more and I’m sure there are more. At least, I hope so!

If you watched the Super Bowl, you saw Michele Tafoya on the sidelines interviewing the Rams about their big win. The program newscasters commented that this would be Michele’s last broadcast as she was retiring after eleven successful years at NBC. Then I saw her interview on Tucker Carlson where she explained she was leaving so that she can “give back to America.” I encourage you to listen to the interview because they also show clips of her on The View denouncing Critical Race Theory. Here’s a story she told on The View, which resulted in outrage from the liberal show hosts:

“My son’s first best friend was a little African-American boy. They were inseparable. Get to a certain age, they start having what’s called an affinity group, which means you go for lunch and pizza with people who look like you . . . There is a big, big focus on the color of your skin. Why are we even teaching that the color of skin matters? Because to me, what matters is your character and your values.”

When Tucker Carlson asked Tafoya why she would make such a bold and brave move leaving her career, she responded:

“This has been on my mind, I’ve been waking up every day with a palpable pull at my gut. My middle-ground, moderate viewpoint is not being represented to the rest of the world. And so rather than, you know, just banging it out on Twitter or Instagram every day, I thought, ‘I’ve got to do something.’ I have benefited greatly from the American dream, and I feel like for the sake of my kids and because I so love this country, I’ve got to start giving back.”

She quit a coveted and lucrative career to join a fight that will put her in the crosshairs of a global political movement that annihilates reputations and tries to cancel its adversaries.

“I don’t care if I’m attacked,” Tafoya told Tucker Carlson. “I really am not afraid of that, and I guess I feel like so many people now are afraid. Yeah. And I’m not. Listen, I know there are repercussions for whatever I choose to say. And I’ve talked to my kids’ school about it. You know, please don’t hold this against my kids. I’m speaking for me. I’m speaking for my family. But please don’t hold this against my kids.”

Jason Whitlock of Blaze Media describes Michele, “Michele Tafoya is fearless. Her obvious courage will be ridiculed, her reputation smeared. She’s a one-woman freedom convoy. Michele Tafoya is doing what she feels must be done to combat evil Critical Race Theory that’s indoctrinating our children and culture with racism and to also support conservative views not held by her employer.

What About You?

I’m sure you know where I’m going with this . . . what is God nudging you with a knot in your stomach when you wake up in the morning? Something you know must be done and He’ll be right there beside you as you do it? All the people I’ve mentioned in this article made a sacrifice of comfort, income, safety, security, conformity, employment . . . to do what they knew must be done. So don’t expect what God puts on your heart to be easy or without you giving up something in exchange for doing what you know is right and must be done.

It’s so easy to sit in the comfort and safety of our homes and not risk anything but simply complain about the atrocities and evil we see in our world today. It’s another thing to do something about it no matter the cost.

As you read your Bible and pray, ask God to show you through His Word: Lord, what do you want me to do that must be done?

Romans 8:28 assures us that every Christian is called for a specific purpose. ²⁸And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (NLT)

Determine what you do best, what you’re called to do, and then just do it!

Therefore I, [Paul] a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Eph. 4:1 NLT

Let’s celebrate and pray for all those who do not live in fear but choose courage knowing God is with us in the battle between good and evil as we do what must be done!

In God I trust and am not afraid. What can man do to me? Psalm 56:11

For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. 1 Peter 2:21 NLT

A 2021 THANKSGIVING Prayer

Many of you read my blog regularly, some are new followers. Even though we may never have met, while others I know quite well or we’ve had the opportunity to meet and fellowship together, I want you all to know that when I write this Monday Morning Blog or my monthly newsletter, you are on my mind. I’m wondering what you’re thinking about world events and how I can encourage you with the Word of God.

Often you tell me that a particular blog was just what you needed to hear and we both know that it was God using me as His messenger. To God be the glory. I appreciate all of your comments and always acknowledge with a response.

As I read Paul’s letter to the Philippians, I noticed the heading for Chapter 1:1-11, 27-28 in the NIV translation: Thanksgiving and Prayer. I thought how appropriate to personalize this passage as my Thanksgiving Prayer for all of you.

My Thanksgiving Prayer Personalized from Paul’s Letter to the Philippians in Chapter 1

To all God’s holy people in Christ Jesus . . . Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Every time I think of you my dear family, friends, peeps, church family, readers, blog/newsletter followers, brothers and sisters in Christ, fellow authors and speakers, I give thanks to our God. In my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the first day you heard it until now. And I am certain that God, who began a good work within and through you and me, will carry it on until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

So it is right for me to feel this way about all of you for you have a special place in my heart. Whether I am chained to the computer writing the next book, blog, or newsletter, or defending and confirming the gospel and the value of mentoring, all of you share in God’s grace and ministry with me. We’re connected spiritually through prayer, praise, communication, and social networking. God knows how much I love you and long for you to be blessed with the tender compassion of Christ Jesus.

And this is my prayer: That your love may overflow more and more and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to focus on what really matters, so that you may be able to discern what is best for you and those you love and cherish, and live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—as you guide, encourage, parent, serve, and mentor others. Be filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.

Live a Life Worthy of the Gospel. Live as Citizens of Heaven. Adapted from Philippians 1:27-28 (NIV and NLT)

Whatever happens, above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I know you personally or never meet you but only hear about your great work, I will know that we stand firm in one Spirit, and one purpose, fighting together as one for our faith, which is the Good News of the Gospel. Don’t be frightened or intimidated in any way by those who oppose or offend us. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that even God himself will save us.

For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him. We are in this battle together. You and I have struggled in the past, and we’re very much still in the midst of it, but don’t lose hope. Jesus will be back soon! Praise God, Hallelujah!

Personal Message From Janet

This Thanksgiving, and every day, go and represent Christ to a depraved and fallen world, so that because of your witness and sharing the Good News of Jesus there will be more saved than lost (“destroyed”) when Christ returns. We see how eminent His return could be as we watch our world seemingly spinning out of control, but we also remember that God is always in control and He is close to all who seek and love His guidance and direction.

Let’s make this Thanksgiving a day filled with joy, peace, and gratitude for the many blessings we each have because we serve a great and glorious God who will never leave us or forsake us.

Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him. Ps. 95:1-2 NLT

Let this be our prayer together as we gather with others this Thanksgiving: For I decided that while I was with you, I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified. 1 Cor. 2:2 NLT

America Has Forgotten Its First Love!

When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan. Pr. 29:2 NLT

The word wicked means those who are morally wrong, hostile to God, anti-God and that describes many who are in authority today in our country.

A country that denies God as its Creator and moral Compass is headed for doom and disaster.

Our founding fathers knew that and so they based the Constitution and Bill of Rights on biblical godly principles. They were men who went before the Lord seeking His guidance. Our country was established on Judeo/Christian values that recognize God created the earth, He created each of us, and people who honor their Creator will succeed. Those who try to deny God and go against the laws of God will fail miserably.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Gen. 1:1 NLT

So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Gen. 1:27 NLT

I always laugh at the term “climate control.” Man doesn’t control the climate, God does. Man can barely attempt to predict the weather. But man has no say over when it rains or when there’s a drought or hurricane or the sun comes up in the morning and the moon at night.

Only God knows when He will say it’s time to end the world as we know it. Only God!

³⁵Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. ³⁶“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son^,,but only the Father. Matt. 24:35-36

Many have foolishly tried to play God or give the impression that they had godly powers, always for personal gain, but eventually they’re unveiled as the charlatans they are.

America Has Forgotten Its Identity is in Christ Alone!

Last week Jason Whitlock, a black Christian sports journalist, podcaster, and host for Blaze Media for the show Fearless with Jason Whitlock, appeared on the Tucker Carlson show and clearly put into perspective what’s happening in our country today. Here’s what he said:

“We should be taking our identity in Christ not in skin color. Not in these superficial things your sexual preference or your gender identification. All of these identities have taken precedent over what used to be our primary identity: Are you a believer? Are you a Christian? Once you identify as that, now I can see the commonality between Tucker Carlson and Jason Whitlock.” [Tucker nods his head in agreement and says “Right”]

Jason continues, “We’re both believers. We’re both Christians. We both love our country. Those things that unite us they’re telling us to disavow and embrace things like skin color and sexual orientation, gender identity, those things that separate us they want us to lean into and lean away from God. That’s the mistake we’re making here in this country.”

Jason gave a sermon right there! And who is the “they” he’s referring to trying to divide us? I wrote about them last week in my blog: We’re No Longer One Nation United Under God. It’s those on the left, including Biden and his administration, who want to turn America into a Marxist/Communist country. The only way they can succeed is to create division among the population and denounce and marginalize Christian Conservatives and our beliefs. They want to deny God!

Jesus wrote about what happens when a church forgets its first love. Imagine what’s going to happen to a country that forgets its first love!

⁴“But I have this complaint against you. You don’t love me or each other as you did at first! ⁵Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first. If you don’t repent, I will come and remove your lampstand from its place among the churches.” Rev. 2:4-5

Removing the lampstand from a church meant that they would fail as a church. That’s exactly what’s going to happen to our country if we forget our first love, Jesus Christ. America will fail.

We’re Watching Authoritarianism Replace Democracy in America

The latest attempt is to silence parents protesting in School Board meetings about the racist, sexual deviant content of what their children are being taught and the fascist attempt to mask all children and even force them to be vaccinated, which has already started in California.

Biden has made it clear the government is coming for our children by characterizing parents who want to have a voice in what their children are being taught as potential domestic terrorists, when it’s the government using a fascist game plan to suppress opposition and take over our country.

I hope that parents aren’t intimidated and continue to take a stand for protecting their children from indoctrination and harm. Don’t let the government have your children. Be respectful and passionate but let your voices be heard. God’s word, not the government, is the final authority and benchmark on how parents are to raise their children.

Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. Pr. 22:6 NKJV

Next, the Biden administration wants the IRS to monitor every person’s bank account over $600! Oh, and that will require 80,000 new IRS employees, but of course only those who’ve been vaccinated. They want to know if you buy a new couch or computer or sell something on EBay! They’re not going after tax fraud in big business and the wealthy; they’re scrutinizing the middle class struggling to survive or spying on where you give donations.

The left think they’re clever the way they hijack the conversation and come up with their own definition of terms. Justice is really revenge. Equity disguises discrimination. Public safety justifies mandates. Women’s health legalizes murder. Their main goal is to control words and repeat them enough until we start using their words and thoughts too. We must not let that happen.

³Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. 2 Peter 3:3 NLT

So What Do We Do?

We keep close to God by reading His Word DAILY and praying asking what He wants us to do. He has a plan for each of us. We were all born for such a time as this.

I’ve said many times that God has a purpose for you and me. You’ll not experience fear or frustration when you feel like you’re doing something to make a difference.

“When people quit talking to God, they quit talking to one another. And people who quit talking to God soon get very lonely and depressed. They are actually lonely for God, hungering for communion with Him, yearning for His close love and nearness; but instead of recognizing these needs as spiritual, they blame their lack of fulfillment on their husbands or wives.” ― David Wilkerson

While it’s terribly infuriating and makes us even angry to watch the damage our current administration is doing to our country and our world relations, they are showing their hand clearly and God told us this would happen.

In 2 Timothy 3:1-5 we read, “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God–having a form of godliness but denying its power. “

Gather together with those who love the Lord like you do for encouragement and support, but also use whatever platform the Lord gives you to share Jesus with those who don’t know Him. Like Jason Whitlock, look for open doors to explain why you can still smile and be hopeful in the midst of the turmoil and chaos we see all around us.

I end conversations and encounters with everyone and anyone cheerfully saying, “Have a blessed rest of your day.” It’s amazing the responses I receive, all positive. Some seem a little surprised but say thank you. Others reply, “You have a blessed day too!”

Remember we don’t belong to some secret society! Just the opposite! Jesus came to earth that all might be saved and He told us not to hide our light but to let it shine brightly for all to see.

¹⁴“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. ¹⁵Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. ¹⁶In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matt. 5:14-16

That’s exactly what Jason Whitlock did on public TV and it’s what we can do in our private life.

Interesting that the prophet Isaiah could’ve been talking about America when he wrote,

I, yes I, am the Lord, and there is no other Savior. First I predicted your rescue, then I saved you and proclaimed it to the world. No foreign god has ever done this. You are witnesses that I am the only God,” says the Lord. Isaiah 43:11-12 NLT

Prayers for Peace and Calm During Pandemic Fear

In unsettling times, we find our peace in the presence of the Lord. He is the only effective cure and antidote to treat and temper the contagious fear epidemic our world is experiencing today.

We live in a fallen world that thrives on keeping us fearfully treading from one crisis to the next. It seems like every morning we wake up to a new peril: Covid variants, alarming statistics, recession, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires, riots . . . . Even the threat of an enemy attacking us with our own weapons, the heartache of young fallen military men and women, and stranded Americans left behind in a botched attempt to end a war.

Sensational media headlines keep us stressed, agitated, and fearful because fear-fueled news sells. Press-induced or politically motivated panic will stoke more pandemic fear and consequences than the source of the crisis.

We must stay current with pertinent accurate information that might affect us personally, but don’t overwhelm yourself reading everything written on the internet or listening to multiple “news” programs or scrolling through social media.

Then there are our own financial, physical, relational, health, and personal crises that often catch us by surprise and strike terror into our heart. We feel helpless as events seemingly spin out of our control.

Fear is a powerful human emotion that can cause us to respond inappropriately or motivate us to take positive action. Or fear has the ability to paralyze us from taking any action. Fear can even stop us from turning to God, our Rescuer, who knows every personal and world disruption we will face.

God’s timeless Word, the Bible, has all the answers for keeping us calm, cool, and collected. He assures us, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

We want to trust God but there are times when peace eludes us. We’re worried and anxious. We don’t want to be brave this time. Then God reminds us, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Courage is fear that prays and calls on God.

I’m going to do something different this week and offer five prayers I hope will help you faithfully transcend from panic to peace. I prayed these prayers myself as I wrote each one out in first person for you to personalize and provided Scriptures to also pray.

1. Take Your Worries to the Lord

Lord, I know that Satan created the spirit of fear, anxiety, doubt, and worries to torture and entrap my mind and rob me of my joy, peace, and sleep. When what-ifs wake me in the dark of night, please help me to denounce Satan and remember 1 Peter 5:7 where you say internal peace is as simple as casting all my anxiety on you because you care for me. I am comforted that you see into the depths of my heart and the intricacies of my mind where unhealthy fears dwell. You already know what’s troubling me, but you want to hear me share my concerns with you to release the stronghold grip they have on my thoughts and emotions.

Father, I trust that you don’t want me to waste a moment of my life fretting. Please calm my racing heart and fill my troubled mind with hope and my spirit with peace. Assure me that no weapon formed against me will prosper and you have a plan and a purpose for me in this time of turmoil. Show me your ways Lord and grant me the courage to follow where you lead. Amen

You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Isaiah 26:3 NLT

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

2. Believe God Hears Your Prayers

Lord, it saddens me that many people don’t understand the power of prayer and even mock me for taking my worries to you in prayer. So I pray first for those who do not believe in you. Where is their hope? I’ll admit that sometimes you seem silent when I so desperately want to hear from you. It’s torture waiting on you, and yet I will wait because I know my prayers are not in vain.

I don’t know if the latest crisis will affect my family or me, but you are omniscient Lord, so I pray that you will spare us. But if fallout touches any of my loved ones, please comfort them with your healing balm. Sometimes our own choices can put us at risk. So Lord, I pray that we would all be judicious in our actions and interactions. I can remain in perfect peace because I put my future in your capable hands. Amen

You came near when I called you, and you said, “Do not fear.” Lamentations 3:57

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him. Psalm 91:1-2 (NLT)

3. Pray with Expectancy and Anticipation

Lord, as I pray with confidence and great expectation, I anticipate your gracious answers to my prayers. When I remember your faithfulness to all generations, excitement and eagerness replace concern and discouragement. Please help me to remember that doubt and faith can’t coexist in my heart. If I’m doubting or anxious, my shield of faith has slipped.

God I know that you’re looking at the big picture and I can only see a small glimpse distorted by my confusion and perspective. I realize that having faith doesn’t mean there won’t be setbacks or difficult times, but if I’m going to enlist your mighty powers, then I must prayerfully trust that your will is done on earth as it is in heaven. I pray for a miracle of your design.

Your answer isn’t always what I want to hear, or the option I was hoping for, but whatever it is I will give you the glory because regardless of the outcome, my eternity is with you. Thank you Lord for your Son Jesus Christ enduring the brutal cross for victory over our sins and sicknesses and I claim that victory in my life and for my loved ones. Amen

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:6

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

4. Remain Wise and Discerning

Lord, I want desperately to take your Word to heart, but a tsunami of negativity and fear engulf me. My thoughts wander to worse case scenarios. I need your insight to diligently untangle truthful facts from embellished hysteria. I ask the Holy Spirit to guide me in filtering out what I should avoid listening to or considering.

Infuse me Lord with discernment and wisdom. Give me clarity of mind and heart. Guard my mouth that I don’t spread gossip or hearsay to alarm others. Help me to exhibit love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Like the apostle Paul, may I learn the secret of being content in all circumstances, knowing that I can do all things through you who gives me strength to fulfill your desires. Praise you Lord. Amen

Let the wise listen and add to their learning,
and let the discerning get guidance. Proverbs 1:5

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:5-6

5. Look for Opportunities to Comfort Others

Lord, we won’t live in a perfect world until we join you in heaven. This current situation won’t be the last crisis for the world or for me. I can’t outrun, outpace, outdo, outsmart, outlive . . . trouble. It has a way of popping up even in the good and prosperous seasons in the culture, my life, and the lives of those around me.

Lord, quiet my raging emotions so that I can be a beacon of healing love and peace to those in my sphere of influence who are overwhelmed by panic and fear. Please help me memorize John 14:1 to share with others who ask me where my peace comes from: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.” These are the words that your Son Jesus spoke to His disciples to comfort them and they also give me comfort when I don’t know how the story ends. Use me Lord as your disciple to bring healing to a hurting world. I love you Lord. Amen.

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

After You’ve Prayed . . .

Taking recommended and reasonable steps to protect yourself and your loved ones will give you a sense of control that helps to manage uncertainties. Prudently, continue your normal activities that typically bring you joy. Healthy coping mechanisms like exercise, rest, eating properly, reading your Bible, staying connected to friends and family, and listening to praise music can help soothe frazzled nerves. If you have medical anxiety, contact your doctor.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8
